Repercusiones de las Enfermedades Inflamatorias Intestinales en el Desarrollo Socioemocional de los Pacientes Pediátricos

Este estudio tiene como objetivo describir las repercusiones de los síntomas de la enfermedad inflamatoria intestinal (EII) en las emociones, la vida escolar y las interacciones sociales de los pacientes pediátricos. Participaron en el estudio 20 cuidadores de niños y adolescentes de entre 5 y 17 años, diagnosticados de EII. Los cuidadores, que tenían entre 26 y 54 años,proporcionaron información clínica y sociodemográfica y completaron un cuestionario sobre las repercusiones de los síntomas de la EII en la vida de los niños y adolescentes. El análisis de frecuencias absolutas y relativas y la prueba de adherencia revelaron que los impactos de los síntomas fueron significativamente mayores en las emociones en comparación con los impactos en la vida escolar y las interacciones sociales (X² = 6,14; df= 2; p= 0,04). El tratamiento de la EII debe incluir la elaboración de planes terapéuticos sensibles a las necesidades psicosociales de los pacientes pediátricos.
