Introduction: Stroke has aroused interest among researchers due to its neuropsychiatric and cognitive sequelae, which impact rehabilitation and prognosis of the disease. This study aimed to map the profile and frequency of neurocognitive and neuropsychiatric symptoms of post-stroke patients, as well as the correlation between them. Methods: This is an observational cross-sectional analysis in a teaching hospital in Pernambuco with 33 post-stroke patients. The instruments used included the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), the DSM-5 Cross-Cutting Symptom Measure Level 1 for adults (self-administered), and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) for neurocognitive screening. The JAMOVI software was used for descriptive and comparative statistics. Results: The sample showed significant rates of depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, repetitive thoughts and behaviors and suicidal ideation. A strong correlation was found between the depression and anxiety scales, with a Spearman's Rho coefficient of 0.680 (p < 0.001). Discussion: The findings revealed a significant interrelationship between psychiatric symptoms, which is relevant for the transdiagnostic understanding of psychiatric symptoms in post-stroke patients. Conclusion: The results reveal an interrelationship between depression, anxiety and cognitive impairment, impacting the recovery of post-stroke patients.
