The Political Emancipation of the Black Individual: Paths Envisioned, Paths Dreamed

This article seeks to elucidate some paths that contribute to the political emancipation of black people, with an emphasis on self-acceptance and love as an expression of this process. In this sense, the importance of critical knowledge about the history of black people is highlighted, permeating the Marxist discussion on class consciousness, in addition to signaling the indispensability of individual and collective struggles and the exercise of ubuntu in the emancipatory path of this population. To construct this article, bibliographical research with a qualitative approach was used. The results of the research indicate that the effects of slavery on the lives and subjectivity of black people are enormous. In these terms, the violence and invisibility caused by whitening harm their sociability and mental health, causing the epistemicide of this population, which feels threatened by racial domination and marginalized from its knowledge and culture.
